Powers Catholic boys hockey team set the bar high in their 4-1 win over Port Huron Northern on Friday.

“We wanted to get over 30 shots tonight and we did that,” Powers Catholic coach Travis Perry said. “We outshot them 37-23 and this is a big game for us.”

Northern defeated Powers Catholic 5-1 last year.

“We were down 1-0 and could have folded, but we bounced back and got a couple goals to end the first period,” Perry said.

Riley Start, Mike Forman, Cooper Skarzynski and Spencer Owen all scored for Powers Catholic in the win. Forman also had two assists for a three-point, game total.

“We’ve won seven in a row now and just want to continue our success,” Perry said.

Powers Catholic (15-5, 3-2) face Plymouth on Saturday.
