Flint Powers Catholic rallied in the third period to defeat rival Grand Blanc 4-3 on Wednesday.

Powers' Jeff Polakowski, Riley Start and Mike Forman scored one apiece. Start and Forman had two assists, while Polakowski, Stefan Cramer and Conor Witherspoon had one each. Austin Kane saved 31 of the 34 shots on goal.

Grand Blanc's Foster Grahn, Ben Sly and Spencer Scarber scored one goal each. Grahn, Nathan Walker, Joe Tomczak, Sly and Scarber had one assist each.

Grand Blanc took an early start with a goal, but Powers came from behind to take the lead. After battling back point-for-point for much of the second period, Powers scored a final goal to tally the win.

"It was a great game," said Grand Blanc coach Bryan Byarski. "It is disappointing to not get the win when we played so well, but I was really happy with how they battled."

Byarski said his team was mercied 8-0 last time the two teams met.

"Even though we didn't get the win, we worked right up until the buzzer," he said. "They played hard, and we'll keep building off of this. This is a vast improvement."
