Delong, a forward, scored three goals in two games last week for the Flint Powers Catholic boys hockey team.

He scored twice in Powers Catholic’s 6-3 win Friday, Dec. 12, over East Grand Rapids, his first with 1:26 remaining in the first period that gave the Chargers an early 3-0 lead. Delong scored in the third period on a power play on an assist from Brendan Walker that helped seal the victory.

Delong netted his third of the season — he’s played in only four of the seven games — on Saturday, helping Powers Catholic to a 2-1 lead after two periods against Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood. The Chargers, however, would give up two short-handed goals en route to a 5-2 loss.

Delong played in 26 games last season for Powers Catholic, which advanced to the Division 3 state quarterfinals before losing to Grand Rapids Catholic Central in six overtimes, and tallied eight goals and 14 assists
