The Flint Powers Catholic hockey team scored three goals in the second period in a 4-0 win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard on Saturday.

Riley Start, Mike Forman, Joe Schunck and Cam Lieffers each scored for Powers Catholic. After a scoreless first period, Powers Catholic scored three goals in the second period to take control.

“It was one of our worst starts of the year,” Powers Catholic coach Travis Perry said. “We got a lot of pucks to the net but didn’t get anything through. We’re happy with the start right now, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the season. We’ll try to keep the shifts short.

“If we keep plugging away, we’ll be successful.”
