Culver Academy 4, Flint Powers Catholic 2: Culver completes third period rally

Culver Acadmey scored three goals in the final period to earn a 4-2 win on Friday over visiting Flint Powers Catholic.

Brendan Smith found Mike Forman to provide Powers Catholic with a 1-0 advantage after the first period.

Riley Start allowed Powers Catholic to take a 2-0 advantage following his second period goal from Jake Polakowski and Jon Thomas.

However, Culver Academy turned the momentum in the third period by scoring three goals within six minutes.

“I thought we played two of our better periods of the year,” Powers Catholic coach Travis Perry said. “For whatever reason we just fell asleep. Every game is a little different than the last, hopefully we can regroup for our game tomorrow.”

Powers Catholic (12-4) travels Saturday to take on St. Joe's South Bend at Notre Dame.
