Flint Powers carried a 2-0 lead into the third period Saturday night over Orchard Lake St Mary’s only to fall 3-2 on a late Ryan Tucker goal with only 22 seconds remaining in the game.

Sam Lechel opened up the Powers scoring at 4:16 of the first period on a dish from Cam Conover and Carson Snyder. Lechel then scored again for his sixteenth goal of the season mid-way through the second period to put Chargers on top 2-0.

The Eaglets roared back in the third period with a goal from Ryan Tucker and a goal from Nick Cloud tying the score 2-2 just before the half way point of the third. In the final minute OLSM’s Bryce Kallen intercepted a loose puck in the neutral zone and hit a streaking Ryan Tucker who ripped home the game winner beating Powers 3-2. The loss was first of the season for Powers moving their record to 11-1-2.

Powers hopes to bounce back Wednesday night at Polar Palace when they take on the Davison Cardinals in a battle for first place in the Saginaw Valley Conference
