Rochester United (5-5-1) visited the Flint Powers Chargers (7-1) on Wednesday night as they were delivered an early exit after two periods. Powers entered the game with 40 goals for, 10 against and 3 shutouts.

From the drop of the puck, the Chargers dominated play until the game was called early. Senior captain Nolan Salayko opened the scoring with one of his two goals when he scooped up a pass in the in neutral zone from Nolan Berner banging it off the far post and into the back of the net. At the 9:31 mark, Salayko notched his second of the night, getting the helpers were Greg Feamster and Jack Dawley. Less than a minute later, the Chargers assistant captain Mr. Luke Cramer grabbed the loose puck out of the corner uncontested, making no mistake burying it by Rochester netminder Zak Kowalski for his first goal on the year. At 2:21, Weston Reinig closed out the first period capitalizing on another neutral zone turnover by skating into the slot snipping the upper left corner. Powers’ junior Michael Tucker led off the 2nd period scoring his first goal on the season making it 5-0. It was a very quiet night in the penalty box as only three penalties were handed out all going to the Chargers. On the flip side, it was a very exciting night for two first year varsity Chargers Nate Murawski and Greg Feamster, securing their first high school goals. Both Murawski and Feamster netted their goals in the high traffic slot area giving the Chargers a commanding 7-0 lead. The game was called at the end of 2 periods as the 8th goal of the night came from Berner. Netminder Nick Kurtiak locked in his 3rd shutout of the year. Final: Powers 8 Rochester 0
