The feeling of disappointment from the triple overtime defeat in last year’s regional finals to the Midland Dow Chargers on March 2nd, was fully present Wednesday evening. The Powers Chargers eagerly jumped on the opportunity for retribution.

Just two minutes into the first period, senior Jack Dawley lit the lamp with a power play goal from Michael Tucker and Andrew Parmentier. Dawley struck again at the 9:41 mark to lift the Chargers up 2-0.

The dam blew open when sophomore Andrew Burny netted his first of two on the night with Dawley getting the helper. At 11:00 of the second period, junior defenseman Nolan Berner stretched his legs a bit, as he went end to end putting the 4th by Dows’ netminder Ethan Jordan (assist Czarnecki). The Dow Chargers loss of sixteen seniors from the prior year left them an empty cabinet to say the least. The following Powers Chargers continued to pour it on with four more tallies to close the game out in just two periods. The goal scorers Cooper Gerhardt, Michael Tucker, Andrew Burny (2) and Jack Siwek finished off the Dow Chargers!

Nicholas Kurtiak with the shutout and his 10th win between the pipes!
