~~The Flint Powers Catholic boys ice hockey team scored four goals in the second period to beat visiting Chelsea 7-2 on Saturday.

“We had a really slow first period, but in the second and third period, we got a lot of shots on net,” Powers coach Travis Perry said. “We seemed to move our feet and get multiple goal scorers.”

Spencer Owen led Powers (8-2) with two goals, while Mike Forman and Garrett Gormley both had two assists apiece. Austin Kane made 16 saves.

“Usually on a night like tonight, we have a lot of different kids scoring,” Perry said. “In the second and third periods, we used more pressure to create some offense.”

Chelsea’s Jacob Dobberstein scored a goal and had an assist, Mack Sullivan scored a goal, and Derrick Schadig made 32 saves.
