Flint Powers Catholic boys ice hockey team uses 3-0 first period to defeat Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 5-2

Connor Owen and Garrett Gormley led the Flint Powers Catholic boys ice hockey team with two goals each, as it jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period and defeated Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 5-2 on Saturday.

"We put a few shots on the net, but their goalie played quite well," Powers Catholic coach Travis Perry said. "We jumped on them in the first period to get those three goals, but he settled back in."

Jake Ploucha also added a goal.

Matt Dahm and Will Kawsky each scored for Gabriel Richard, and Ryan Baron made 47 saves.
