Chargers goaltender Austin Kane had a big week for seventh-ranked Flint Powers hockey team last week. Kane made 20 saves as the Chargers blanked host Davison 3-0 on Wednesday, Jan. 29, secured a 6-0 shutout victory with 15 saves over Walsh Jesuit (OH) on Friday, Jan. 31, then capped off a 2-0 weekend with 24 saves in a 4-1 win over Toledo St. Johns (Ohio) on Saturday at the Grand Rapids Catholic Showcase.

Kane has given up just one goal in his last three games.

"He’s probably played some of his best games since he's been at Powers,” Powers coach Travis Perry said after Kane’s performance on Saturday. “He looks comfortable and hopefully we can keep riding him into playoffs."
