The Flint Powers Catholic hockey team scored two goals in the second period, on its way to a 4-1 win over host Saginaw Heritage on Wednesday.
Jeff Polakowski scored one goal and added two assists to lead Powers Catholic (14-5), while Mike Forman added one goal and one assist.
Austin Kane made 29 saves on 30 shots to record the win.
"They scored two goals in the last minute of the second period off of bad mistakes by us," Heritage coach J.J. Bamberger said. "Having one goal scored is a back breaker, but two goals, it just really hurt us. We scored the first shift of the third period to make it 3-1. If we didn't have those two breakdowns, that would have tied the game at one."
