Flint Powers took its act on the road for a non-conference game in Hazel Park against U of D Jesuit just before the holiday break and managed a 4-0 victory.

Both teams fought hard in the first to no effect as the goalies held their ground.

In the second, Powers senior forward Conor Witherspoon opened the scoring with an even-strength goal at 2:08. Witherspoon was assisted on the play by line mate Brendan Smith and senior d-man Jake Polakowski. Powers went to the locker room at the end of the second up 1-0.

In the third, the Chargers power play units got some work thanks to a 5- minute major. At 5:41, senior forward Brendan Smith scored with assists from Jake Polakowski and Conor Witherspoon. A little over a minute later, junior forward Cam Conover scored a power play goal with help from senior defenseman Mac Diver and junior forward Cam Leiffers. Junior forward Christian Wentworth frosted the scoring cake with an even-strength goal at :48 on assists from senior forward Joe Schunck and junior Keigan Wildfong.

Goaltender Adam Cantley stopped 24 shots for the shut-out and senior Brendan Smith scored his 100th point as a Charger. Congratulations, gentlemen!

The Chargers begin the new year with road games against Bay City Wednesday and Chelsea on Saturday.
